The overall Indian market for ceramic tiles is growing approximately at 15% for the last few years. Within the tiles sector, the wall tiles market is growing at 13% per annum, while the vitrified tiles market growth is over 20% per annum. The recent market slow down has not made any impact on the production and consumption of tiles due to shift in consumption from Tier-1 cities to Tier-2 cities and Tier-3 cities.
Restile currently has a network of over 15 distributions and 415 dealers in all the major markets in India, and even has dealers and showrooms dedicated to only Restile products. The company is presently expanding the network to 500 dealers by the end of 2010-2011 financial year, and 700 dealers by the end of 2011-2012 financial year in view of the increase of production. Members of the sales team are located across the country to promote the sale of these products through architects, consultants, builders, interior designers, while seeking out to create more dealer relationships.
The company plans to progressively expand its dealer network and place showrooms in all major Tier-1 cities followed by selected Tier-2 cities across the country.
Currently, the entire distribution strategy is being redefined and restructured, by looking at the current contribution of the present team in each region, its strength in retail market, dealer appointment plan along with stock point decision is being taken up.
In recent months, the marketing team has been making strides and breaking company records for sales volumes with sales starting to exceed 120,000 sq.mtrs per month, and only expecting these figures to substantially rise.
